1. From the menu bar, choose File - Database - New. The New Database dialog box appears.
2. Select Local in the Server field. The local server saves the database on your hard drive rather than on a Domino server.
3. Enter a title for your database. For example: My Web Pages.
Note As you type a title, Notes Designer adds a name to the File Name field. You can accept this database file name or change it. Database filenames can be up to 8 characters and end with the file extension .nsf.
4. Scroll down the list of templates at the bottom of the dialog box.
5. Select the Web Pages template.
6. Click OK. When you open a database for the first time, the document "About This Database" opens. This document contains useful information about the database including its purpose and intended audience. To close the document, press ESC. This brings you to the main view of the Web Pages database.
7. Press ESC to close the Web Pages database. This brings you to the Notes Designer workspace shown below. The workspace displays the icons for the databases you use. You click once on the database icon to select it (for copying or linking) and twice to open it.
